Jon & Tracey

This past weekend I had the privilege of working @ my favorite venue, Apple Barn Farm in upstate NY. The weather all week up to the wedding on Saturday had been chilly & rainy, but we ended up with the most perfect day for this couple. The cool breeze, sunshine, & big, puffy white clouds were idealistic for photos. Jon & Tracey were such a laid back & easy going couple that it made our job so much easier. I even loved the fact that she walked down the isle barefoot.

This place has so many great locations for photos. These were a couple of my favorites.

To help her guests enjoy the natural surroundings & feel more relaxed she provided flip flops for everyone to wear at their leisure. Great idea, especially when you're dealing with an outside setting (heals + soft ground = muddy shoes).

The bride added a special touch to distinguish her flip flops by putting bows on them.

It seems more & more people are going with the non traditional wedding cake & using cupcakes instead. I'm a huge fan of this, especially since I'll choose a cupcake over a piece of cake any day. A friend of the family was talented enough to provide these gorgeous cupcakes, that were so delicious & presented beautifully with the added touch of candles.

This couple really wanted their guests to have great time. So bubbles, balls, & hula hoops were provided for everyone to use. Even the bride's mom & sister in law took full advantage of this.

Round Three

A friend of mine who I've known since we were little girls together is expecting baby number 3. She's lives in California now with her husband & kids, but came back east for her brother's senior graduation. So since I missed her first two pregnancies, I wanted to make sure I captured her "last" pregnancy (the last one was her last too). We had a beautiful day to do it to because the rainy week hadn't started yet. This was a lot of fun & it's always fun to work with people you know so everyone feels comfortable with each other. Congratulations Noah & looking forward to meeting the new little man.

Face Painting Frenzy

Here they are, our three graduates of 2009. All cousins, so it made for a very busy weekend with family. We had two parties so everyone was pretty exhausted to say the least. Finlay & Madison had a carnival themed party with face painting, bounce house, sno cones, & popcorn machine while Mason had a Luau themed party & the pool was an added bonus. The face painting was such a hit with the kids that we did it for both. Especially since this was no ordinary face painting when you have my brother in law as the artist. He's amazing & all the kids were just lined up for hours to have a turn. There were so many that were my favorites, that's what I wanted to highlight from the parties.

I had to throw this one in though. I think this was Finlay's favorite gift, from Uncle Alex.

And a party wouldn't be complete without a trailer ride. They had a blast.

My nephew's Graduation Ceremony

This was a big kindergarten graduation weekend for us, but only one of the three in my family got an actual ceremony with caps & gowns. I graduated from Red Hook Central School & appreciate how this school sees the importance of getting each new class off to a good start. Yes, it's only the beginning, there's still 12 years to go. I just think starting them off with such excitement & showing our appreciation for their hard work @ an early age will carry on through their entire education. Finlay was pretty disappointed not to have a ceremony, but we did acknowledge his accomplishments by throwing him a big party.

Fishing with the boys

Took the boys to a great spot down on the river @ the end of Warren Street in Hudson. Peyton has been having a hard time figuring out how to cast, but with a little patience & some practice he's casting like a pro now. Love the muscles in his arm showing his determination to cast it as far out as he can while his toes grip the rock for fear of falling in.

Jesse no sooner dropped his line in after getting the boys set up & caught the one & only one

It may have been a small one, but he was sure proud of it.

Great fishing vests from Grandma & Grandpa who live in Idaho, where dad learned to fish

Lucas Noah

I was so excited to finally be able to visit one of my good friends in Connecticut. She had a baby last spring & the last time I saw him was over a year ago. So I was definitely over do for a visit. Unfortunately time wasn't on my side as they lived 2 hours away & I had a time frame to be back to get the boys from school. Lucas took a nap for almost my entire visit, but it was all good since I got to visit with mom. Catching up on on things & realizing how life has changed for us since we first met so many years ago. Life is good though, & having kids changes everything. I was able to squeeze in about 20 minutes for pictures because Lucas woke up right before I had to leave. Thanks to Francesca & Lucas for letting me spend some well deserved time with you both.

I love this face. This is classic Lucas smile. Just want to squeeze those cheeks.

Rebecca & Mike

Our latest wedding was definitely nothing out of the ordinary, which is exactly how this bride & groom wanted it. Black happened to be the groom's favorite color so they decided to incorporate it in everything...including the wedding dress. I have to say I was a bit nervous since I'd never seen one before, & I was pleasantly surprised. With the pearl beading throughout & stitching pattern, it made for a gorgeous dress. The brides' favorite color was green, so that added as the accent color. Thankfully the weather held out for most of the time, except for towards the end when I tried to sneak them out for some private pictures. It began to pour, but thankfully we had our trustee umbrella which I have to say, was perfect for the color scheme. As these two proved though, all you need is love & everything else comes together.
